The market for beauty and personal care products in China is already large, and analysts have reported that it will continue to grow – robustly – over the next four years.

China’s anticipated baby boom is driving the demand for baby and child-specific products, while its large aging population is increasing the demand for products such as anti-aging skin care. Men’s grooming is another area likely to see consistent growth, as young men are more interested in personal care products.

Online sales for beauty and personal care products has grown rapidly in China, and major brands have already taken notice. Proctor & Gamble, L’Oreal China and Unilever China have all had online stores since 2011, at the popular eCommerce site Tmall, to reach this group of growing consumers.
